Catalyst Education: Reflecting on 2023 and Embracing 2024

As the CEO of Catalyst Education, I am thrilled to share our remarkable achievements in 2023 and our exciting plans for 2024. With a steadfast commitment to revolutionizing science education, we have witnessed tremendous growth and innovation, setting the stage for an even more promising future.

2023: A Year of Growth and Impact

  • Increased Impact: We expanded our reach, positively impacting 40% more students than the previous year. This remarkable growth is a testament to the effectiveness of our solutions in improving student learning outcomes and the willingness of you, our customers to join us on this journey.

  • Team Expansion: Our dedicated team grew from 28 to 33 individuals, each contributing their expertise to drive our mission forward.

  • New Initiatives: We launched several initiatives to enhance the learning experience for students and educators. Labflow  Complete, an integrated solution providing lab manuals and PPE, streamlined lab preparation and ensures  students are ready to start participating in labsfrom day one. Product Rollouts: We continued to introduce innovative products to empower educators and improve student engagement. We added Item analysis  to our Data Insights that enables faculty to assess the effectiveness of their assessments. We introduced our partnership with Turnitin this past fall, providing originality analysis on selected parts of the lab reports in Labflow.  Focus on Accessibility: Recognizing the importance of inclusive education, we introduced features for creating accessible course materials, ensuring equal access to learning for all students.

2024: Continued Innovation and Expansion

  • Specifications Grading: We are excited to introduce a new product focused on specifications grading, a transformative approach that enhances student motivation and engagement. By shifting the focus from grades to competencies, students are able to take more ownership of the learning process, fostering a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

  • Biology Market Expansion: Building on our early successes, we will expand our reach into the biology market. Our solutions, tailored to the unique needs of biology educators and students, have been well-received, and we anticipate continued growth in this area.

  • Continued Product Development: Our commitment to innovation remains unwavering. We have been researching ways to track the amount of time graders spend hand-grading lab reports in Labflow. We will be adding this analysis to our data insights pages this spring so faculty will be able to get a better idea on the time spent grading reports.. We will continue to develop cutting-edge products and features to meet the evolving needs of our customers. By listening to their feedback and staying attuned to industry trends, we aim to deliver solutions that drive positive change in science education.

At Catalyst Education, we are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of our customers, partners, and team members. Together, we are transforming the way science is taught and learned, empowering a new generation of students to succeed in their academic and professional endeavors. As we embark on 2024, we are filled with optimism and determination, ready to unlock even greater possibilities in science education.
