Accelerating Research in Lab Education

I recently presented at ACS Spring 2022 to share a preview of the work we’re doing here at Catalyst. Joined by Caitlin Zumalt, one of our stellar Faculty Success Managers, we discussed how Labflow can help accelerate research in laboratory education.

Our presentation focused on using Labflow as a platform for scalable data collection and how that can integrate into your research. We covered the importance of lab in STEM education, how normative beliefs about lab education shape our research agendas, and how Labflow can be a rich source of data for your research questions.

In our presentation, you’ll see a showcase of the wide variety of data sources at your disposal in Labflow, from standard measures like student achievement to more advanced analytics like student activity data. We show through an analysis of a Labflow course how these datasets can be combined to analyze the important lab skill of student preparation. We conclude with a conversation about Big Data at Labflow.
